Sketching in Australia


I just got back from Australia earlier this week - what a trip! I had never been before, and didn't know what to expect. A 22 hour trip didn't sound too worth it to me. But I had a blast spending a few days in Sydney and then traveling up to Darwin in the Northern Territory. It was awesome seeing such different perspectives of the country.

I met some fellow artists and explored the city. And of course, I did some painting and sketching. I was on a ferry boat last Saturday and it was crazy windy, my bag and my sketchbook almost went overboard - but I managed to sketch a few things along the Sydney Harbor:


Here's a painting I did that was inspired by my last day in Sydney. I was at a local market and it was such a gorgeous day - the light was perfect for a painting:
